With the Roam, Wahoo is launching a brand new GPS computer in the Elemnt series. With a colour display and smart navigation, the fitness experts want to keep bikers on course at all times.

Exploring unknown terrain has never been easier for bikers than it is today. Simply select a suitable route in the smartphone app or a destination, pair the mobile phone with the GPS device and the adventure can begin.

With the Elemnt Roam Wahoo is now also launching a GPS device on the market that not only offers the most important smart navigation functions, but also a colour display.

Automatically on course with Smart Navigation

Thanks to the new Smart Navigation functions, route guidance in unfamiliar terrain should be made even easier. The ROAM automatically guides bikers back to the planned route if they stray off course. The new route is calculated within a few seconds. The ROAM's 2.7" colour screen and a battery life of up to 17 hours should also enable long rides and even tours lasting several days. As with all computers in the Wahoo ELEMNT series, the Roam can also be set up and analysed using the free smartphone app.

The following functions can be accessed directly from the computer

  • Get Me Started - navigates you from your location to the start of your planned tour
  • Back On Track - takes you back to the planned route if you get lost or a diversion forces you to take a detour
  • Take Me To - allows you to select a destination point on the ROAM using the new PAN and ZOOM functionality and takes you exactly there
  • Saved Locations - offers quick and easy navigation to locations that you have saved on your ROAM
  • Route To Start - finds the fastest route back to your starting point
  • Retrace Route - takes you back to the starting point on the route you travelled

The ROAM's new Ambient Light Sensor independently takes care of light management, switches the backlighting on and off or adjusts the brightness of the screen and the two Quick-Look LED strips in line with the ambient brightness. The form-fitting handlebar mount allows the Roam to be stylishly integrated into the cockpit.

Full integration into the Wahoo system

Like the other ELEMNT bike computers (e.g. Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt for 264 euros at Rosebikes), the ROAM can be seamlessly integrated into the entire Wahoo Fitness system, including the KICKR smart trainers, the TICKR heart rate belt family and the RPM sensors for accurate speed and cadence measurement. The side views of the latest addition to the ELEMNT family can also be customised, including the Perfect View zoom function for perfect view adjustment of maps and data fields during the ride.
