Electric motor manufacturer Brose has so far focussed on developing high-quality electric drives for e-bikes and producing them at the company headquarters in Berlin - and with success. The motors have received a lot of praise from pedelec riders of all kinds, especially because they are very quiet and provide a natural, typical cycling behaviour.
E-bike manufacturers who use Brose drives previously had to combine them with handlebar displays from other suppliers. Brose is now closing this gap with the three display models "Allround", "Remote" and "Central".
The Allround model combines the control buttons for the drive and the display of the riding data in a plastic housing weighing just 50 grams with a curved, 1.5-inch colour display that can be mounted on either the right or left side of the handlebars.
The two models "Remote" and "Central" form a harmonised team. Remote can also be used on its own and then functions as a purist, unobtrusive control unit on the right or left handle. The assistance level and charge status are displayed by means of a coloured LED strip. In conjunction with the 3.5-inch "Central" display, Remote becomes the operating satellite for the centrally mounted colour screen, which displays all riding data and system information clearly and in large format.
According to the manufacturer, the first bikes with the new Brose displays will be on sale from the Eurobike trade fair in September 2019.
