Mountain sports specialist Ortovox is entering mountain bike territory with the new Sequence series. From summer 2026, the company from Taufkirchen near Munich plans to launch its own mountain bike collection on the market. The series comprises the two lines Trail and Free and is intended to combine functionality and responsible production with the dynamics of mountain biking.
The Trail line was designed for steep climbs and long descents. It focuses on robust materials in combination with functional details. The Free line, on the other hand, is characterised by airy cuts and clever material combinations with wool. It is designed to maximise flow on the trail. The range is complemented by versatile all-rounder products such as Gore-Tex jackets and trousers with an ePE membrane, shorts with SQlab padding and accessories such as socks, gloves, hip bags and rucksacks.
Ortovox relied on strong partnerships when developing the Sequence series. The collection was developed together with companies such as SQlab and Gore-Tex. According to Ortovox, the products are produced according to high environmental standards: The products are said to be bluesign-certified, do not use PFAs and have an increased proportion of recycled polyester. The Sequence series thus follows the company's own sustainability strategy ProtACT.
A co-operation with the Deutsche Initiative Mountainbike e.V. (DIMB) is intended to provide direct access to the mountain bike scene. The national guides of the DIMB will be equipped with Ortovox products. The company also wants to support projects in the areas of sustainability and safety.
For Ortovox, the entry into the mountain bike segment marks a strategic milestone. Stefan Kohlbauer, CEO of Ortovox, emphasises: "The mountain bike collection is a milestone for us. We are not only expanding our portfolio, but also bringing our brand values to a new sport. In doing so, we are positioning Ortovox in a future-orientated and broader way."
The Ortovox Sequence Trail Jersey and Pants were developed for long days in the saddle. The jersey is made from 100% recycled polyester and features odour-neutralising technology. The pants are made from a robust material with 4-way stretch and breathable inserts at the back of the calves.
The Sequence Free jersey and shorts combine merino wool with TENCEL Lyocell fibres for a temperature- and moisture-regulating effect. The shorts are made from a 2-way stretch material with wool content and recycled polyester.
The Sequence Gore-Tex Jacket and Pants use a windproof and waterproof Gore-Tex Performance material with a PFAS-free ePE membrane.
Ventilation zips and an MTB-specific fit are designed to maximise the comfort of the Ortovox combination of Sequence Gore-Tex jacket and pants.
No matter how challenging the trail is, the Ortovox Sequence Bib Liner fits. No pinching, no slipping, no chafing, promises Ortovox. Quick-drying, close-fitting material combined with airy mesh inserts should offer full freedom of movement and high breathability. The MTB-specific SQ-Pad 11 is designed to reduce shear forces and ensure even pressure distribution.
The lightweight, minimalist Sequence Daypack 15 from Ortovox is the perfect partner for day tours. Thanks to the numerous storage options, there is plenty of space for a safety kit, change of shirts, goggles and snacks. The integrated tool pouch is removable and allows tools to be stored flexibly in other pockets. The rucksack does not require a hip belt, offers complete freedom on the bike and should sit absolutely securely on drops and technical trails.
The versatile Ortovox Sequence Hip Pack 3 is designed to take on everything from lunch rides to bike park adventures and offer space for the most necessary equipment. Compression options and mesh-covered contact pads should ensure a secure, comfortable fit for the Ortovox hip bag.
