With the Hip Belt for hydration bladder and the Hermetic hip bag hydration bladder, Fidlock is launching two new products that are specially tailored to the needs of ambitious mountain bikers. The hip bag was designed for long tours and technically demanding trails and is intended to impress with its well thought-out storage space concept.
The main compartment has five practical compartments that allow tools, spare parts and personal items to be organised in a practical way. The bag also has two side compartments that provide quick access to frequently used items such as energy bars or keys.
According to the manufacturer, the removable Hermetic storage compartment, which is equipped with a self-closing magnetic lock and is designed to protect sensitive items such as smartphones or documents 100 per cent from water and dust, is particularly practical.
The Hip Belt for hydration Bladder is an extension of the Fidlock range. The previous Hip Belt Single or Double, with the click-in bottles (tested here) is still available. The hydration bladder itself, with a capacity of 1.5 litres, was specially developed for use in hip packs and complements the already established hydration bladders for rucksacks.
The special feature of this hydration bladder is the three wide-opening rows of magnets, which are designed to make filling particularly easy. The manufacturer promises that the rows of magnets close almost automatically. An additional snap fastener on the pocket flap can be operated with one hand and is designed to prevent the bladder from opening unintentionally during the ride.
In combination with the separately available Tube Clip S, which attaches the drinking tube to the belt, the hydration bladder enables convenient hydration during the ride - without bikers having to stop.
Elasticated loops on the outside allow flexible attachment of accessories such as an air pump or a light windbreaker. The materials and zips used are splash-proof and should function reliably even in adverse weather conditions. Reflective elements provide additional safety at dusk or in the dark.
The breathable back padding is designed to ensure a high level of comfort and reduce perspiration, even on longer tours. The Hip Belt also dispenses with a classic buckle on the carrying strap itself. Instead, the Fidlock magnetic fastener holds both ends together, which can be opened and closed even when wearing gloves - a typical feature of Fidlock products.
Fidlock offers the new products both individually and as a set. The Hip Belt for hydration bladder is available at a recommended retail price of 109.99 euros, making it one of the more expensive hip bags on the market. The Hermetic hip bag hydration bladder costs 59.99 euros individually. Both products are available as a set for 159.99 euros. This puts Fidlock's new products firmly in the premium segment for mountain bike accessories.
