Kids get scrapes often enough as it is. They don't need to get their fingers banged up while biking. The casual long-fingered gloves from Fist have been an absolute hit with the editorial team for a few years now. We've already had some with donuts, ice cream and planet designs, but the cheering pineapples will definitely be the next model. The gloves can be adjusted to the kids' small wrists using the Velcro fastener. The thin Clarino leather on the inside guarantees a direct grip and secure hold. SDG Slater JR Grip / Slater Handlebar
Alongside the pedals, the grips are the most important interface with the bike. They need to be grippy, comfortable and, above all, thin enough for small children's hands to grip them securely. With the Slater JR, SDG has developed a grip that measures just 25 to 26 millimetres in diameter - ideal for children's hands. The Slaters are clamped on the inside, which means there is plenty of room for gripping on the outside. There are six colours in total, so there should be something to suit every taste.
Due to its low thickness, the inner diameter of the Slater JR is only 19 millimetres, which makes a special handlebar necessary. But SDG also has this in its programme. Early Rider not only builds extremely stylish children's bikes. The Brits also have a stylish set of pedals in their programme for the very little ones. So down with the boring black plastic pedals and up with the gaudy pedals made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic. The PI Resin pedals weigh just over 200 grams per pair. Well, the kids don't care. But the parents are happy. The casual caps are available in dozens of different designs from brightly coloured to subtle black and white. We mounted the headset caps on our children's bikes as trophies after our first visit to the bike park. Since then, they have motivated the youngsters anew every time they ride.

Zéfal Bike Taxi
This practical tow rope is definitely something that benefits both children and adults. It makes it easier for the kids to get to the next trail entrance and saves parents from annoying nagging. What's more, the "oldsters" get fitter when they take a few watts of pedalling power away from their offspring. The Bike Taxi is secured under the saddle using a simple tensioning strap. The loop of the tow rope is simply placed over the stem of the towed bike and off you go. Once at the top, the kids can unhook themselves from the lift - pretty practical.
