The number of times I've had to type the word "enduro" recently is mind-boggling! The Evoc rucksack is of course also designed for the trendy sector.

It was fine with me, because I needed a rucksack with an integrated back protector, which is mandatory for races in Italy. The "FR Enduro" has a capacity of 16 litres. An extra compartment for the hydration bladder is integrated into the main compartment. Two mesh pockets on the sides, a key pocket on the wide waist belt and two smaller zipped outer compartments round off the pack monster. There is also a helmet compartment and clever knee pad straps in the base. Evoc offers the "FR Enduro" in three lengths so that the protector fits the body length. Thanks to the wide main waist belt, the Evoc sits firmly on the back. When fully loaded, however, it becomes a little sausage-like and slips easily towards the helmet when things get very steep.

The pocket management is good, especially the lower outer pocket has many small compartments for tools and repair kit. The guys have also thought of a car key holder. The small compartment in the front of the waist belt is ideal for a multitool - you can always reach it. The helmet compartment is suitable for half-shell and full-face helmets. The only problem when racing: if you're travelling with two helmets, it's difficult to get to the compartment under the helmet bag in the event of a defect. More than once we had to unclip everything and fumble the helmet away to get to the pump and repair kit.

The first (pre-series) endurance test model still had the wrong Velcro on the strap. After two months, nothing was sticking. The production-ready model then did its job without complaint and without sticking. To this day, all the zips still work perfectly and the seams are as good as new.

PLUS Integrated back protector, workmanship, pocket management
MINUS Fit at full load not ideal

CONCLUSION Very well made backpack with integrated back protector and good pocket management. The fit is not quite ideal when fully loaded. However, the detailed solutions make it a very good companion for day tours and races.
