A slightly curved top tube characterises the Diamant Zouma Deluxe, the test bike from the traditional forge that now belongs to Trek (USA). The design is subtle and rather restrained. The 27.5-inch tyres are harmonious and provide very good handling even in the full 60 mm width. The centre tread makes for good rolling: Pure bike culture, manoeuvrable and straight ahead is no contradiction here.
You sit in a perfectly sporty, touring position - if the bike fits well, as it has neither an adjustable stem nor a seatpost that can be adjusted from the handlebars. One of the three available sizes must therefore fit - you need a bit of toe sensitivity at the traffic lights: The - lockable - Suntour suspension fork means you sit a little higher.
Nevertheless: perfectly balanced riding position, harmonious touring position, great road holding, which leads to a lot of cornering fun, even with luggage. We would like to see a thru-axle instead of the quick-release on the front wheel for even more rigidity.
The driving force is the Bosch Performance CX, controlled via the familiar handlebar panel and the Kiox 300 display. The battery can be easily removed to the right or charged via the - low-set - socket on the seat tube.
The touring carrier has a MIK system surface and can also accommodate baskets. However, it sits far back. The gears are shifted by chain at Deore level, just enough for a sporty tourer. The 60-lux front light is slightly below par - it could be better.
The Diamant Zouma is a fine and finely crafted tourer for people with a focus on sporty running culture. Comfort and ergonomic tips: retrofit an adjustable stem and suspension support.
