The new lightweight touring bike from the Koblenz-based forge looks slim. As usual, the slimmed-down frame is also visually impressive. The geometry is relatively sporty and the Shimano XT gears emphasise this trend. Weighing just 21.7 kilograms, the bike rolls well even without assistance. When you press the button, the Canyon Pathlite:On like thick thighs when you pedal at medium to high frequencies. Then the SX is in its element, whirring quietly and adapting to the rider. The removable Bosch battery delivers 400 watt hours. This is enough for 70 kilometres on mixed terrain. Bosch's Smart System can also provide GPS tracking, the latter for just under 40 euros per year (1 year free).
You sit slightly stretched out on the bike, the handlebars and grips as well as the adjustable stem are sportily orientated. Comfort: lowerable suspension seat post, responsive suspension fork with 63 millimetres of travel. The button on the handlebars sends high beam (160 lux) via Supernova light. With the Ultrabite tyres, you are also safe on dirt tracks, but a slightly flatter lug design would have resulted in smoother running. The bike is safe and manoeuvrable, even with 27 kilos of luggage, which is somewhat noticeable when cornering. The MIK system carrier can also carry a child seat and is equipped with removable mounts for the Ortlieb QuL3.1 system.
