The season is coming to an end and autumn is just around the corner. Many manufacturers and mail order companies are therefore offering trekking and e-bikes at sometimes heavily reduced prices. We have put together a selection of bikes that are currently on offer and that we have already tested.

The Kathmandu is a solid all-rounder with good equipment. The lighting system and the pannier rack integrated into the design make the bike a versatile companion for longer journeys.

Giant Explore E+

The Giant Explore E+ series (here in the MYBIKE test) is designed to offer more versatility, performance and riding safety. The target group for these trekking e-bikes are ambitious cyclists. The Syncdrive Sport2 motor is making its debut with this series. Six sensors of the so-called Smart Assist technology are installed in the motor, on the basis of which the power required for the riding style and terrain is determined. Cube Touring Hybrid EXC 625 - 3,099 instead of 3,449 euros

It couldn't be more stable: the luggage carrier struts of the Touring Hybrid EXC (here in the MYBIKE test) are welded to the frame in typical Cube fashion. This means that even heavy luggage cannot cause the rear triangle to vibrate - a clear plus in terms of riding safety. A pannier rack frame with spring flap is bolted to the strut frame, where panniers can be attached. The Touring Hybrid EXC 625 is manoeuvrable and can be steered light-footedly and directly. The price-performance ratio of the pedelec is remarkable. Apart from the slightly weaker Bosch Performance drive, the Cube hardly differs from its competitors in terms of equipment. There is even a high-quality twelve-speed XT rear derailleur at the dropout.

Rose Backroad Plus - 3,899 instead of 4,399 euros

The Rose Backroad+ Urban (here in the MYBIKE test) has everything that is good and important for travelling between home and work. The commuter bike is available as a randonneur, as a fitness and gravel pedelec and in an urban version. All variants use the same frameset and differ only in their respective equipment. The MYBIKE conclusion

The Rose Backroad+ only weighs around 17 kilograms, making it a real lightweight: the carbon frame and fork and the small battery with a capacity of just 360 Wh make it possible. That's enough for journeys between home and work. An eleven-speed drivetrain with XT rear derailleur and single crankset also help to save weight. This makes the Backroad+ a great companion for the commute to work.

The Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ (here in the MYBIKE test) is very comfortable to ride. The low weight and agile riding characteristics are the main reasons for this impression. A detail - Future Shock: a suspension system integrated into the stem provides the rider with 20 millimetres of comfort, allowing them to ride comfortably even on rough terrain such as cobblestones. The Specialized Turbo Vado SL is a bike for those who don't want to let the motor do all the work and also want to pedal themselves. It is a very pleasant commuter and sports bike with good, playful handling and somewhat audible but very harmonious assistance that works efficiently.

Maik Schröder was born in East Westphalia and prefers to ride through the countryside on his gravel bike. The tour can also include a culinary stop to fortify himself for the next few kilometres.
