The road tourer Amazon relies on long-term quality: Rohloff gears, Gates transmission and fine titanium tubing promise an eternal life.

Its consistently implemented concept of a purist riding machine with a low-maintenance, durable structure and skilfully tuned sportiness provides a lot of riding fun on long asphalt tours. You can pass this bike on to your grandchildren.

Titanium is a very special material. A relatively low density positions titanium between steel and aluminium in terms of weight, a high modulus of elasticity makes titanium extremely break-resistant and flexible, and when exposed to air, the material forms an oxide layer that absolutely prevents any corrosion under normal conditions.

In terms of its performance characteristics, titanium is far ahead of steel and aluminium in the eyes of many cyclists and frame builders. Because all these properties are highly welcome in a bicycle frame. No other metal offers so much, develops such high resistance and is therefore ideal for a long bicycle life.

Titanium tubes are resistant to dents and scratches and their surface is extremely hard. At the same time, a titanium frame absorbs shocks. Van Nicholas decorates the sporty, compact Amazon frame, which is also available with a separable seat stay on the left: This allows the Rohloff hub to be operated with the low-maintenance Gates belt. An eccentric with segment clamping supports the bottom bracket and allows the belt to be given the important, correct tension. The rear triangle is tested in-house for the stiffness specifications of the European Gates distributor, so that premature belt wear due to a rear triangle deflecting sideways when pedalling can be ruled out. Everything is flawless.
