A major advantage of the new aluminium frame from Tout Terrain is the option of integrating a battery. The Neodrives Z20 S rear hub motor is used in both models, with a maximum range of 120 kilometres according to the manufacturer. Both the e-trekking bike Skane and the e-commuter Camden are available in standard and harness versions. Both are equipped with a Pinion gearbox and a Gates belt drive. A GPS tracking transmitter is installed to protect against theft.
With the "Camden", Tout Terrain is presenting a new everyday pedelec in 2022. Above all, it is designed to be low-maintenance and reliable for daily commutes, which is why the bike was designed around a carbon belt drive from Gates and a Pinion gearbox with nine gears. The Neodrives motor is located in the rear hub of the Camden; it is quiet and ensures more bike-like riding dynamics. The 625 watt-hour battery is designed to provide a range of up to 120 kilometres and is integrated into the down tube of the frame, but can be removed.
In addition to the smooth-running balloon tyres, a barely recognisable Headshock suspension fork with 35 millimetres of travel ensures a comfortable ride. The Camden also has a permanently installed GPS module as standard, which can be activated via Tout Terrain's own app for additional services such as localisation (movement alarm or recovery after theft), emergency assistance or various insurance packages. The Camden is available with diamond and trapezoid frames and in three frame sizes (S, M and L) from April 2022 and costs €6,499.
The new "Skan" from Tout Terrain is heralded as a comfortable travelling companion. Due to the long stem, the rather long top tube and the wide handlebars, the riding position on the touring bike is rather sporty. This geometry also ensures a safe directional stability. If you prefer something more comfortable, you can choose a shorter stem and narrower handlebars in the Tout Terrain configurator. The Headshock suspension fork with 35 millimetres of travel ensures comfort. It is designed to absorb bumps, small steps and potholes. In combination with the suspension seat post, this suspension matches the sporty character of the touring e-bike.
The Neodrive engine matches the sporty appearance: It is designed to accelerate quickly - even on hills. The choice of tyres is also consistent: The wide Hurricane tyres from Schwalbe roll easily on tarmac, corner well and offer secure grip on dirt tracks.
Conclusion: The new Skane is a robust trekking e-bike with exceptional technology for commuters and tourers.
Both the Camden and the Skane have been available for testing at selected Tout Terrain dealers since 4 April. More info at www.tout-terrain.de/e-bikes
