Eight everyday bikes for 800 euros in the test
In use in all weathers and often enough outside at night: the conditions for an everyday bike are tough. Where do quality and price go best together? 8 bikes around 800 euros in the test - with pleasant surprises.

800 euros is the approximate guide price for a usable everyday bike. However, there are few bikes below this price that can withstand outdoor car parking without complaint and are fun to ride. The test team was particularly excited about the current generation of everyday bikes. These rare specimens are not just inexpensive trekking all-rounders, but are as well equipped for their intended use as they are elegant to look at.

Their art lies in making clever sacrifices: not everyone needs derailleur gears, suspension forks or suspension seat posts. In theory, the money saved there is then available for better add-on parts or a stylish design. Such rigid bikes are also lighter, and this is clearly noticeable on the basement stairs.
