The traditional Italian manufacturer is positioning the Rapida as an "affordable model" in its own racing bike range. Parallel to the technically mature but expensive flagship Filante It is designed to attract an audience that has a preference for Italian bike brands but is on a budget. The Rapida is visually orientated towards the sporty appearance of the professional racer: a modern frame shape, an aerodynamically designed carbon seat post and even a carbon cockpit are part of the package, which is available as a complete bike from just €2,899. The more expensive version (€3,999) also includes carbon rims and electronic gears. The riding position is somewhat more moderate, with a stack-to-reach ratio of 1.47, it lies between the brand's Race and Endurance models. According to Wilier, the bike is therefore also suitable for long rides with a sporty character. The generous tyre clearance of up to 36 mm extends the range of use of the bike beyond tarmac roads.
The frame picks up on the design language of the Filante with aero profiles, but dispenses with elaborate details such as the integrated aero bottle holders. The carbon monocoque cockpit fully integrates the cable routing. The carbon seatpost uses an integrated clamp that blends in with the overall design. The Press-Fit 86.5 mm bottom bracket corresponds to the standard of the other Wilier road models. The Rapida can also offer a UDH derailleur hanger, while the removable front derailleur mount allows configuration with a single or double chainring.
The two available configurations come with variants of Shimano's 105 groupset: for €2,899, you can get a mechanical 2x12 drivetrain and aluminium rims from Miche. For €1,100 more, you can upgrade to the electronic 105 drivetrain and carbon aero rims. Both versions are fitted with 32 millimetre wide Vittoria Rubino tyres. Wilier does not offer a single frameset.
There are four colours to choose from. In addition to plain black and white, the bike is also available in silver grey or a fresh fluorescent orange.
