SUV, dual battery and Fazua? What can these e-MTBs do?
More reach, lower weight, wider range of use: E-MTB manufacturers have particularly focussed on these wishes for the 2020 season. We have checked out these three trends.

LEICHT: Fazua drive

Low weight, natural riding feel, free pedalling: These are the core competences of the Fazua drive. In 2020, there will be a wider selection of e-MTB models featuring the compact motor from Munich for the first time.

  • Maxx Jinxx ELF

ENDURING: Dual-battery E-MTBs

2500 metres of altitude in turbo mode? No problem! In 2020, many bikes have 1125 watt hours on board - thanks to Bosch's dual-battery system. Can the variable concept solve the altitude dilemma? We scrutinised the dual battery in the lab and in practice.

VERSATILE: SUV E-MTBs

An e-mountainbike can be more than just a piece of sports equipment. With the right additional equipment, the wide-tyred mountain bike becomes a universal city slicker. So it's no wonder that hardly any manufacturer's model range is missing the SUV species in 2020.

Florentin Vesenbeckh has been on a mountain bike since he was ten years old. Even on his very first tour, he focussed on single trails - and even after more than 30 years in the saddle of an MTB, these are still the quintessence of biking for him. He spent his youth competing in various bike disciplines and later his cycling career was characterised by years as a riding technique coach. Professionally, the experienced test editor now focusses on e-mountainbikes. In recent years, the qualified sports scientist and trained journalist has tested over 300 bikes and more than 40 different motor systems in the laboratory and in practice.
