Price-performance cracker from Germany
Well-designed bikes at a fair price, developed in Germany. The new R Raymon brand wants to take off with this philosophy. The first hardtails come with a harmonious look and good equipment.

R Raymon Sevenray / Nineray 8.0 Carbon

The top model of the R Raymon brand costs 2499 euros - a price for which some brands do not even offer the entry-level model or even a frame. In return, the Schweinfurt-based company offers amazing luxury: a carbon frame with stylish details and practical equipment. The bike is available with 27.5-inch wheels (Sevenray 8.0) as well as a 29er version (Nineray 8.0).

The new brand offers entry-level sporty mountain bikes for as little as 999 euros. The Nineray 6.0 (29 inch) and Severay 6.0 (27.5 inch) have a handsome aluminium frame with internally routed shift cables, hydraulic disc brakes, Shimano XT rear derailleur (11-speed) and an SR Suntour air suspension fork. This means that nothing stands in the way of your entry into the world of cycling. This is not a matter of course in this price range.

In the first year, the Schweinfurt-based company's range consists of eight hardtails - all of which are available in both 27.5 and 29 inch versions. Further MTB models are set to follow in the coming years.

Florentin Vesenbeckh has been on a mountain bike since he was ten years old. Even on his very first tour, he focussed on single trails - and even after more than 30 years in the saddle of an MTB, these are still the quintessence of biking for him. He spent his youth competing in various bike disciplines and later his cycling career was characterised by years as a riding technique coach. Professionally, the experienced test editor now focusses on e-mountainbikes. In recent years, the qualified sports scientist and trained journalist has tested over 300 bikes and more than 40 different motor systems in the laboratory and in practice.
