Light and compact: Focus Jam² 9.9 Drifter on test
The Focus Jam² 9.9 Drifter with dual battery system is an old favourite. For 2021, the perennial favourite has been spiced up with Shimano EP8 and a wheel mix.

Focus offers a wide range of options for the Jam²: 27.5 inch, 29er or mullet version with 27.5 rear and 29er front wheel. Two motor variants are also available: The majority of the models rely on the Bosch Performance CX with a 625 Wh battery. However, we opted for the version with the new Shimano EP8, the Jam² 9.9 Drifter with carbon frame and wheel mix. A special feature is the "T.E.C." double battery system, which allows a 378 Wh battery to be attached in addition to the small battery permanently installed in the down tube. A total of 756 watt hours.

The test costs 0.99 euros. Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in EMTB. We don't pay for them, but the opposite is the case: we charge for them - hundreds of thousands of euros every year.
