Wild FS: Orbea launches first E-MTB
Orbea presents its first E-MTB: The Wild FS aims to bring fun to the trail with 140-millimetre suspension and a mix of wheels. An integrated battery powers the Shimano Steps motor.

It was only a matter of time before the Basque developer of Orbea build an e-mountainbike. The Wild FS has an aluminium frame with 140 millimetres of suspension travel. The Shimano Steps motor provides the necessary propulsion. This is fuelled by a fully integrated 500 Wh battery. The energy reservoir can be removed without tools, but can also be charged in the frame.

The Basque company has designed the geometry and components to maximise riding fun: The 450 millimetre short chainstays promise agile handling. A Kenda mix with e-mountainbike casing should ensure sufficient grip: a 27.5x2.8-inch Havock at the rear and a 29x2.4-inch Nevegal at the front rotate around the axle. The cockpit sounds harmonious: The stubby stem with wide handlebars provides a lot of security on descents. The Fox suspension forks are E-specific, the wheels are also solid.
