All new: Univega has also expanded its Vision hardtail range from 26 to 27.5 inches. 400 grams more than last year's model (3rd place with 107.75 points) is still manageable.

But the equipment also suffers from the increase in size: a tougher suspension fork, poorer tyres and compromises in the shifting components cost the Vision LTD points. Nevertheless, the result is a harmonious, good climbing entry-level hardtail, as the entire test field suffers from compromises in terms of equipment. The basis for the good handling is the balanced geometry of the aluminium frame, which is not light. The good overall impression is supported by tried and tested components such as a comfortable saddle or the user-friendly quick-release seat clamp. The poor paint quality and the lack of an additional guarantee would be easy for Univega to solve.

ConclusionA harmonious, well-balanced hardtail with a good riding impression that loses points due to sloppy details.

PLUS Shimano SLX crank, balanced geometry
MINUS Tough fork, heavy frame, cheap tyres
