Univega: Two new 29ers at a fair price
Univega is starting the 2013 season with two price/performance bangers: a 29er hardtail made of carbon and the 130-millimetre fully with large wheels.

With the "Alpina SL 29", Univega is venturing into the full-suspension 29er segment for the first time. Three models, each in four different sizes of the new aluminium frame, will be available in 2013. The top version comes with full XT gearing, Rock Shox Revelation fork and Crank Cobalt wheels. With a 130 mm fork and 120 millimetres of travel at the rear, the Alpina SL 29 is already an all-mountain bike in the 29er sector. At 12.5 kilos and 2599 euros, it offers excellent value for money. Below this, two other models for 2000 and 1600 euros round off the range.

An XTR/XT mix and carbon for 3000 euros

Even for a carbon hardtail with good equipment, you don't have to dig deep into your pockets at Univega. The 29er hardtail with the 1350 gram carbon fibre frame only weighs 10.3 kilos in the top configuration. This is ensured by a mix of XTR and XT, Crankbrothers system wheels and a SID fork from Rock Shox. The three models start at 1600 euros and end at 3000 euros. The frame hides the cable housing neatly inside, has a butted head tube and comes in the colours orange, red and blue.
