Everything about the Univega wants to go uphill. The Impulse drive pushes slowly but steadily, enabling it to climb over 2000 metres at the highest support level - no one else can get that far.

Problem with the engine control: the long overrun (which cannot be adjusted via the Climb-Assist menu setting). The gearshift interruption should also remain completely deactivated. The drive delivers maximum power in a narrow speed range. The design of the frame puts a lot of weight on the front, which means that the bike remains easy to control even on steep ramps, but the low front has a negative effect on the descent. The 29-inch tyres provide good traction.

Conclusion: the bike for long tours. There is no longer range on the market. However, you have to get used to the somewhat crouched riding position on the Univega.
