BIKE ASSESSMENT: Univega's carbon chassis is in the good midfield with its laboratory values. Stiffness and weight are fine, the ten-kilo mark is no problem. The handling shows its super-agile side: steep angles, short wheelbase, (too) short stem. Before you get used to the modified braking system, you're heading for the gravel with wide eyes. The composition is not quite right. When pedalling, the crank grazes the chainstay, the torsion-prone fork and the not recommendable combination of aluminium discs with Magura brakes lead to the conclusion: lightweight construction with weaknesses!
