The brand new Roscoe from US giant Trek stands out from our test field in two respects. Firstly, only the top model was available for 2599 euros, and secondly, the Roscoe with its 140 mm fork is predestined for trail use more than any other hardtail in this comparison. In terms of price, the Roscoe 7 for 1549 euros would have been more appropriate. However, the more expensive model provides an exciting side view and was rated using the same points system for better comparability. The generally heavy trail hardtails are otherwise in a separate class at BIKE with a more relaxed weight rating. Compared to the normal test field, the Roscoe's heart beats much stronger for the downhill.
The new Trek Roscoe is a true trail hardtail and only really blossoms on demanding trails. For this area of use, the solid equipment fits like a glove. Pedal-heavy tours are not the Roscoe's speciality.

Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in BIKE. We don't pay for them, but the opposite is the case: we charge for them, namely tens of thousands of euros every year.
