Test: Bergamont Roxtar LTD
Bergamont's new hardtail line with 27.5-inch wheels rolls onto the trails under the name Roxtar and replaces the previous Metric models. The Bergamont hardtail in the test.

In addition to the top all-round tyres with high-quality rubber compound and carcass, Bergamont relies on powerful Shimano M506 brakes and is the only one in the comparison to use a Manitou suspension fork. The Marvel Comp fork also has a lockout that can be operated from the handlebars, but weighs a little more on the scales and is lighter through its travel than the Rock Shox Reba RL, which is almost standard in its class. At 2129 grams, the frame, which is available in five sizes, is quite heavy. The Roxtar also brings up the rear in terms of overall weight, which means that the bike is not quite as agile when accelerating. In terms of geometry and the relaxed riding position, there is absolutely nothing to criticise about the Hanseatic bike.

Conclusion on the Bergamont Roxtar LTD

Slightly overweight 27.5-inch hardtail with good all-round tyres, solid brakes and balanced geometry.

PLUS High-quality all-round tyres, good brakes
MINUS High total weight, heavy frame
