Are you one of those people who always fish the sultanas out of your muesli? Yet breakfast cereals are available in every conceivable mixture and variation. But not in your personalised one. Fortunately, muesli is now available "on demand". The "Project One" customising line from Trek is based on precisely this recipe for success.

There are thousands of colour, decor and component options for the Superfly's 1117 gram frame. However, the inner values remain the same despite the wide range of options. And that's a good thing. After all, no other test bike can corner as accurately as the Superfly - despite the sparsely profiled tyres. It feels as if you could be playing on your smartphone on the side, the carbon fibre racer handles so casually and easily. You'll have to ask your scales whether the 140 mm rear brake disc is enough. Because some people like sultanas and others don't. But fortunately, that's what the configurator is for.

Conclusion: one bike, a thousand faces: the handling ace Superfly SL as an exclusive Project One body.

PLUS Five frame heights, super handling, customisable
MINUS 140 mm rear brake disc

The alternative A touch more mainstream, but 2500 euros cheaper: The Superfly 9.8 is based on the same frame as the top model. As a groupset, you have to make do with the eleven gears of a Sram X01.

Even though our professional testers prefer small brake discs like those on the Trek Superfly, they should be at least 160 millimetres at the rear. Because they are more stable and easier to modulate.Photo: Georg Grieshaber Even though our professional testers prefer small brake discs like those on the Trek Superfly, they should be at least 160 millimetres at the rear.
