Test 2015: Cube Elite C68 SLT 29
Code name "C68": What sounds like a new games console actually stands for the fibre content of Cube's new frame technology. The Waldershof developers have increased this to 68 per cent.

In return, the Elite frame now uses less resin, which reduces the weight by an impressive 100 grams. The result shows that the complex and expensive process is worth it: the Elite C68 frame weighs in at a record-breaking 989 grams and does not compromise on stiffness and comfort. You can feel it: the C68 climbs greedily, targets lines like a precision rifle and doesn't flinch a millimetre when pedalling. Together with Shimano's electric masterpiece XTR Di2 and the RS-1 fork, Cube sets off a firework of innovation like Apple and Samsung combined and defines the status quo in 2015. Once you've climbed, the balanced geometry whips you mercilessly into the lactate bath.

ConclusionWith the Elite C68 SLT, Cube is setting off a firework of innovation. Uncompromising, very fast and very expensive.

PLUS Lightest frame with top measurements, XTR Di2 drivetrain, carbon wheels, good-natured handling, double drivetrain
MINUS High price

The alternative Those who prefer tried and tested mechanical gears can opt for the Elite C68 Race for 3999 euros. The bike has the identical frame in the Teamlite paint finish and only weighs around 400 grams more.
