The Czechs offer a huge range of 29er and 27.5-inch hardtails - from aluminium to carbon, for professionals and beginners alike. The carbon fibre XP 929 model bridges the gap between the race and sport segments. The lightweight, stylish frame with integrated cable routing translates every pedal stroke into propulsion, but is therefore lacking in comfort. As there are only two frame heights, you should be able to cope with the stretched, classic riding position. Lightweight wheels (4016 grams) with lightning-fast Thunder Burt tyres make accelerating really fun. When you turn onto technical single trails, the smooth-running Superior wants to be actively pushed into the bends. At the same time, you shouldn't expect too much from the stubborn Rock Shox 30 fork (1905 grams). A Nobby Nic tyre at the front would do a lot for safety on loose surfaces.
ConclusionYou can tell that the carbon 29er is rooted in racing. The equipment and riding impression do not come close to the noble frame.
