Digital, smart and fast. This is the ideal of communication in 2020. And this is exactly what the new e-MTB brand Swype is based on. E-mountain bikers register their bike using an app, are connected to service stations on tour and can be contacted in the event of a breakdown. Bike theft report the loss with one click. Dealers can process orders or service requests 24/7 via the app and online tool. They don't have to put the Swype bikes in the shop countless times, because the delivery times are so short that the bikes are only ordered once the customer has decided to buy them based on a demo bike in the shop. Swype is a kind of direct mail order company for retailers. The customer should benefit from fast availability and fair prices. This is the concept behind the Oldenburg brand's e-MTBs.
The newcomer Swype was presented to the public for the first time at Eurobike 2019, and the e-MTBs will finally roll into the shops at the end of February. All Swype dealers can be contacted via the Company homepage viewable. Swype has two hardtails and four fullys in its programme, whereby the e-hardtails with mudguards, pannier rack and lighting system will be more at home in commuting and urban areas than on trails and in the mountains.
The fully models go by the name of freqz and have all the prerequisites to survive off-road. The aluminium frames are fitted with Bosch's new Performance CX motor, which is powered by either a 500 or 625 PowerTube battery. In terms of wheel size, Swype has opted for the popular mix of 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear wheels. This should provide the perfect compromise between good roll-over characteristics and smooth running (29 inch) and agile handling (27.5 inch, short chainstays). All four freqz models have 150 millimetres of suspension travel and start at 3999 euros.
The four equipment variants are each available with a 500 or 625 watt-hour battery. The entry-level model freqz 1.0 500Wh is available from 3999 euros, the top model freqz 4.0 625Wh costs 5799 euros.
