The Colorado turned out to be a thoroughbred athlete and light-footed climber on our test ride. Thanks to the lightest wheels (4035 grams) and the low overall weight, it plays at the top of the 29er league (in terms of price). The tiny 90-millimetre head tube and the compact seating position provide plenty of propulsion: the starting licence for sporty marathon use! The super agile steering demands full attention on the downhill. Higher quality tyres would crown the equipment. After all, the Evolution compound tickles the last watts out of the rolling resistance and dampens better than the fitted Performance version.
PLUS Lightest wheels, lightest bike, good equipment, climbs well
MINUS Slightly nervous handling
Tuning tip Replace tyres with Evolution version; possibly replace handlebars
ConclusionLightweight, agile thoroughbred with the equipment for the marathon start line.
