Serious Bear Rock from Fahrrad.de put to the test
The Serious Bear Rock from Fahrrad.de is a heavy entry-level hardtail with less harmonious equipment. The high riding position and narrow cockpit take some getting used to.

Serious, Internetstores GmbH's own brand, is mainly sold via Fahrrad.de and Brügelmann. We were not fully convinced by the 12.5-kilo Bear Rock during the test. With its XT rear derailleur and crankset, the Serious relies on easily recognisable blenders. The high riding position and stiff handling take some getting used to. The front wheel rises quickly when climbing, while the narrow cockpit makes for nervous, unsteady steering downhill. Tuning tip: fit a shorter stem (approx. 90 mm) and wider handlebars. The MT2 brakes, on the other hand, are easy to modulate and the Recon Gold also responds as sensitively as a Reba. In terms of frame design and quality, you can expect more in this class.

Conclusion: Heavy entry-level hardtail with less harmonious equipment. The high seating position and narrow cockpit take some getting used to.

PLUS Shimano XT crank
MINUS Heavy frame, cockpit too sporty, uncertain handling

Large welded seams and simple round tubes make the frame interchangeable and even at first glance it appears to be of little value.Photo: Daniel Simon Large welded seams and simple round tubes make the frame interchangeable and even at first glance it appears to be of little value.
