Scott Spark RC
A top-class race bike. The test winner on points. It couldn't be more versatile.

Scott sets the trend: more suspension travel for racers. The newly developed Spark aims for 120 millimetres, and the bike can afford this luxury thanks to the Twinloc lever on the handlebars, which can be used to remotely adjust the fork and rear suspension to the terrain: Lockout, firmer compression or completely open. The Twinloc lever is used more often than the gear lever. Although we didn't utilise the 124 millimetres of rear travel on the test ride (the 120 mm SID fork also remains firm), the Spark still rides much more comfortably than the competition. And it doesn't lose a metre on the climbs: Even powerhouse Kurschat praised the uphill qualities. Compared to the old Spark, the new one is stiffer, faster, more versatile and more comfortable and more tempting than ever to accelerate. The Scott team rides tuned racers weighing less than nine kilos!

The suspension adjustment is a unique selling point of the Spark. Plenty of suspension travel that doesn't hurt!Photo: Daniel Simon The suspension adjustment is a unique selling point of the Spark. Plenty of suspension travel that doesn't hurt! With plenty of suspension travel and three modes that can be operated from the handlebars (lockout, traction mode, open), the Scott Spark is the reference among racers. Versatile, sensitive, comfortable. The firmer Traction Mode setting (affects the compression damping) could not be optimised on our test bench, or not at all (fork), but it is clearly noticeable!Photo: BIKE Magazin With plenty of suspension travel and three modes that can be operated from the handlebars (lockout, traction mode, open), the Scott Spark is the reference among racers.
