In BIKE 12/07 Scott's 4500-euro "Scale 10" defended its test victory. The more attractively priced "Scale 30" is already being tested here in its 2009 guise. The equipment is not as high quality as that of the competition and lacks a touch of luxury. However, Shimano's "SLX" groupset looks high-quality, works well and fits in well with the stylish frame. However, the frame weighs slightly more than the more expensive "Scale 10" due to different fibres. The riding behaviour on the circuit holds no surprises. You ride fast, sit confidently (long position) and, thanks to the long fork, you can descend in a controlled and smooth manner. As a result, the bike also cuts a fine figure on marathons.
CONCLUSIONS: All-rounder for circuits and marathons. Confident handling, the equipment is somewhat meagre in comparison.
