Scott is putting its new long-stroke E-fun bike on massive 27.5 Plus tyres, making it a great way to chase down the trails. The E-Spark and E-Aspect have also been revised for 2016.

If the previous E-Spark is too race orientated or offers too little suspension travel, you can look forward to the new Scott E-Genius for 2016. With the thick tyres in Plus format (27.5 x 3.0 inches), loss of traction is a thing of the past. The 140 millimetres of Fox 34 and 130 millimetres at the rear feel like a lot more in the first ride test. You quickly get used to the slightly different handling behaviour and the downhill performance is great fun.

Five models of the Scott E-Genius

Those who prefer normal 2.35 inch tyres can alternatively order the Genius with 29er wheels. A total of five versions are planned, including a Contessa version for girls. The drive units come from Bosch and are the new, higher-torque CX motors, which have more torque compared to the 2015 performance line and can transport more energy with 500 watt hours (instead of the previous 400).

The E-Genius with normal 29-inch wheels is available for 4499 or 5299 euros. For the Plus version, you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket. Here, 4799 euros are due for the standard and Contessa models. For the top model you need to have 5499 euros ready.

Scott E-Spark: Two new models

The Scott E-Spark has also been overhauled for the 2016 season. It now comes in two equipment variants. The new generation of Bosch CX with increased torque and 500 watt-hour battery is now also used here. The e-touring bike offers 120 millimetres of suspension travel with Fox components in the top model and Rock Shox/X-Fusion components in the more affordable version. Even the more affordable model for 3799 euros is functionally beyond any doubt, but if you prefer the Fox suspension and XT components instead of a Deore/SLX mix, you have to go for the 4599 euro top model.

Scott E-Aspect: Four model variants plus a Contessa model

The Scott E-Aspect hardtail with 100 millimetres of suspension travel is the bike of choice for those who want to ride their e-MTB mainly on forest roads and moderate forest trails and only occasionally venture into difficult terrain. Three models are available in 27.5 inch and two in 29 inch, whereby the Contessa model naturally rolls on 27.5 inch wheels. In terms of equipment, you can choose between Fox suspension and XT components or Rock Shox TK Silver and Deore/SLX mix. Of course, the new Bosch CX with a 500 watt-hour battery is also used here. Prices are between 2799 and 3399 euros.
