Anno 1993: The Canadians really took off in racing with the first 26" aluminium Vertex. Anno 2012: The carbon Vertex is set to follow in these successful footsteps as a 29-incher. Rocky is sending a lightweight frame (1158 g) with intelligent cable routing, a kinked seat tube and a 12 mm thru-axle into the race. It manages the balancing act between stiff and comfortable. The SID fork contributes to the firm, balanced riding impression. The Vertex doesn't allow itself any time off on our test ride: you're always motivated to turn the throttle uphill, although the wheels aren't the lightest despite the latex milk. The wide flat bar with the tidy cockpit is controlled and fast through the hairpins, only tamed by the powerful and easy to modulate X0 stoppers.
ConclusionA mature, well-balanced, state-of-the-art racing classic. There is no longer a 26er version!
