Just a glance at the spec of the Black Sin makes it clear why every tester was keen to go for a quick spin on the bike from the Bonn-based mail-order company.

A flawless XT groupset, the SID fork and a light, beautifully shaped carbon frame (1297 g) reduce the weight to 10.5 kilos. Off we go: the Radon attacks the best time right from the start. Uphill, the steep seat angle provides plenty of pressure on the pedals, while on the trail sections, it circles precisely and smoothly around the roots. The SID fork, which is the first choice for racers in particular with its firm character, provides direct feedback on the handlebars. The only thing we couldn't get to grips with was the triple crankset when over-geared. You're constantly switching back and forth between the large and medium cranks. But that's complaining on a high level. Only the cracking bottom bracket strained our nerves.

ConclusionLight, stiff and superbly equipped: Radon impressively demonstrates how sporty bikes can be for 2000 euros.

PLUS Top equipment, light & stiff frame, balanced handling
MINUS Pressfit bottom bracket cracks
