The price increase is to blame: the 2010 test winner (124.25 points, 10.55 kilos) can no longer quite match last year's result in terms of both weight and equipment. Instead of an SLX crank, there is a groupless alternative from SRAM, and the Elixir 5 brakes have had to make way for the 3 model (large discs). However, the Zyankali still offers the lightest wheels in the test group (3886 grams) and the very good Reba fork, as these components have a huge influence on handling. The Poison is still the top bike in terms of overall and frame weight (11.05 kg/1552 g), making it ideal for sporty (racing) use. The wider handlebars are a plus, but the lack of impact protection on the chainstay spoils the picture a little.
Conclusionlight-footed climber and racer for beginners with a solid mix of components.
+ Lightest bike
+ Lightest frame
+ Good fork
- No chainstay protector
