Behind the new Open Cycles label are Gérard Vroomen, founder of racing bike manufacturer Cervelo, and Andy Kessler, former CEO of Cervelo. We introduce the Open Mountain.

With their brand, both want to "appeal to bikers with an affinity for technology, for whom the bike is a lifestyle and status symbol". As with Cervelo, they are specifically targeting high-end customers, even if this is not a large target group. The debut model is a carbon 29er hardtail (frame approx. 2500 euros) and will hardly be available for less than 5000 euros. The top version will probably cost a five-figure sum. For this you get a sophisticated, super-light frame with exquisite components - for example the Acros hydraulic gearstick. Three bike platforms are planned in the long term.

The frame of the Open Mountain is said to weigh just 870 grams, making it the lightest 29er on the market. The price for the limited version: around 10,000 euros.Photo: Daniel Simon The frame of the Open Mountain is said to weigh just 870 grams, making it the lightest 29er on the market.
