Lidl is adding a new e-MTB to its e-bike fleet: The new hardtail comes with a powerful Mivice X700 mid-mounted motor that delivers a maximum torque of 100 Nm. It is shifted with a Shimano Cues gearstick. The price for the e-bike is particularly attractive - as usual with the discounter: 1599 euros. Most recently there were two new city bikes from Crivit, which were powered by a Mivice rear hub motor, the Crivit Urban E-Bikes X.3 and Y.3.
A battery with a capacity of 709 Wh is integrated into the down tube to provide power. This can even be removed for charging or transport. According to the manufacturer, the charging time is around 5.5 hours when using the charger supplied.
The Crivit Peak 709 E-Hardtail offers three support levels: Eco, Tour and Race, which call up correspondingly different outputs from the Mivice X700 motor, but which is designed to provide a 250 W push at its peak.
A boost function is also available, which calls up the full motor power for a maximum of 20 seconds. This should be particularly helpful on steep climbs or when setting off. A pushing aid also makes it easier to manoeuvre the e-bike.
The e-bike system is operated via a Crivit display mounted on the handlebars. According to the manufacturer, this allows you to switch between the support levels without having to take your hands off the handlebars.
In addition, the LED display permanently shows the battery status and the current support mode. A Shimano Cues 10-speed derailleur gear system is used. With a cassette with 11-48 teeth, the e-MTB is also equipped for the steep trails on the tour.
The Crivit Peak 709 is based on an aluminium hardtail frame. At the front is an SR Suntour XCM34 suspension fork with 120 millimetres of travel. This can be individually adjusted to the rider's weight. The brakes are hydraulic Shimano MT200 disc brakes with 180 millimetre brake discs on the front and rear wheels. Enough braking power to get you safely down even the steepest of trails.
The Crivit E-MTB rolls on 29-inch wheels fitted with high-quality Maxxis Rekon tyres with a width of 2.4 inches. This combination should offer a good compromise between rolling resistance and traction. A magnetic Fidlock Bike Base drink or bag holder is also fitted. The pedals have triple industrial bearings and interchangeable pins for a secure grip.
The Peak 709 from Crivit is available in three frame sizes: M (for heights from 154 to 170 centimetres), L (166 to 188 centimetres) and XL (182 to 200 centimetres). Lidl delivers the Crivit hardtail e-bike 93 per cent pre-assembled. For the final assembly at home, the front wheel has to be fitted, the handlebars straightened, the pedals screwed on and the seat height adjusted. And then you're off on your first motorised mountain bike tour!
