New carbon hardtail: Haibike Greed
Haibike presented its new carbon 29er Greed at the BIKE Festival in Riva: the centrepiece of the carbon hardtail is its 1090 gram frame with angular, solid tube shapes.

According to Haibike, the Greed hardtail uses a particularly light carbon fibre, which is why the frame only weighs 1090 grams (frame height 45 cm) despite its massive-looking design and variable dropouts. The design of the 29-inch counterpart of the already familiar Freed is characterised by masculine, rather angular shapes. A voluminous head tube ensures a robust appearance, while the filigree rear triangle adds a sporty touch. According to Haibike, the new Greed frame platform is extremely stiffThe riding position is sporty and stretched. With the new Haibike Greed, it was important to the Haibike engineers to be able to "feel" the difference between 27.5 inches and 29 inches. Thanks to significantly shorter chainstays than its predecessor, the manoeuvrability of the Greed is said to have been significantly improved. The new Haibike Greed will be available from specialist retailers from autumn 2015 for € 5999 in the top configuration. The seat tube tapers from the large-volume bottom bracket area upwards to a 27.2 mm seat post in order to offer the greatest possible saddle comfort. Thanks to interchangeable cable entries, both mechanical and electronic shifting systems can be used on the Greed and even a telescopic seatpost can be retrofitted. The front derailleur mount can be removed on request and is covered with a form-fitting cover. This provides a tidy look, especially with single derailleur groupsets.

The top version is equipped with carbon wheels from Bike Ahead.
