Mi-Tech Tyke P1: Carbon racer with Pinion gearbox
Carbon specialist Mi-Tech has fitted the Pinion gearbox to its new Tyke race hardtail. This should enable lightweight construction fetishists to break the ten-kilo mark with all three wheel sizes despite the three-kilo gearbox.

Matt visible carbon and orange anodised tune parts make the eyes of tuning freaks sparkle. With a carbon rigid fork, Olympic Gold wheels and a frame weight of 1230 grams at frame height 47, the 29er version tips the scales at just 9.3 kilos. The Italian-made frame with internally routed cables and tapered head tube costs 1698 euros and is also available in 26 and 27.5 inch versions in addition to 29 inch. All three versions have a 12 millimetre thru-axle at the rear. A build with a total weight of around ten kilos should be possible for around 5000 euros. The manufacturer builds the bike entirely according to the customer's wishes and also advises on geometry issues.

The Mi-Tech Tyke P1 with Pinon gearbox is bursting with high technology.
