A solid race hardtail whose strengths lie in downhill riding. To catch up with the elite circle of "super" models, it lacks a few nuances here and there. Most expensive bike!

The top carbon model from the Austrians is available for a sinful 6999 euros and you can choose between 2 x 10-speed SRAM XX and Shimano's new XTR groupset in a double or triple version. The 1200 gram frame, the centrepiece of the nine-kilo Myroon, achieves reassuring stiffness values (STW value: 67) even without a butted head tube.

On climbs, a quick push on the XLoc handlebar lever is enough to lock the SID-XX fork, which matches the groupset. Due to the 3365 gram Tricon wheels from DT Swiss, the KTM does not climb steep climbs as easily as its lighter competitors. On the other hand, lovers of slack steering angles will get their money's worth with the Myroon: the 69.5 degree slack head angle provides a smooth ride and control on rooty and steep descents. The 620 millimetre wide handlebar is okay, but a wider cockpit - possibly with a riser bar - would fit more harmoniously into the downhill-oriented overall concept of the Myroon. A little homework still needs to be done on the frame protection: The chainstay protector is wafer-thin and the protective film on the down tube is completely missing.
