If you can do without the state-supporting lettering on the down tube, you should take a look at the new Greed: A solid frame (1109 grams) at a price of 1399 euros, even the mail order company doesn't offer much cheaper. Admittedly, the liveliness falls somewhat victim to the heavy equipment. Triple cranks, Terralogic fork (1870 g) and heavy wheels (3780 g) add up to 9.85 kilos, the heaviest bike in the test. This requires more power on the climbs and high power peaks when accelerating, which wears you down in the long run. But on fast descents, the smooth-running Greed keeps up with the best. The long wheelbase and wide 680 mm handlebars ensure composure and riding stability. Despite the very short chainstays, the Greed cuts a better figure on fast marathon descents than on winding, narrow cross-country courses.
Conclusion: Solid marathon racer with touring character. Tuning tip: frame set for 1399 euros.
