Last year, Canyon still lacked a carbon 29er in its range. The Koblenz-based company quickly responded to the request of racers Alban Lakata and Wolfram Kurschat and conjured up the super stiff, lightweight frame (LKS / 100 Nm/degree) of the Grand Canyon CF SLX from production. As required, the geometry is very sporty: low at the front, a steep seat angle (73.8 degrees) and 435 mm chainstays guarantee propulsion on every ramp, no matter how steep. High-end components such as XTR gears, Ritchey carbon parts and Crossmax SLR wheels from Mavic leave nothing to be desired by racers. This is how the Conti tyre mix is ridden in the World Cup. After their laps on the World Cup course, both testers realised: The handling is super direct and precise, keeping up with the BMC. You just have to be careful when choosing the frame size. There is no S frame. M is therefore very small.
Conclusionready for the World Cup: lightweight, super-stiff racer of the highest quality with above-average equipment.
