The Gran Canyon is a top sports bike with a frame that is made for tuning. Sensible equipment. Test winner.

Even mail-order leader Canyon is feeling the effects of the weak exchange rates: instead of an SLX crankset, the 2012 model comes with a Deore version and the Elixir 1 brakes instead of the Elixir 3. Nevertheless, the light, stiff aluminium frame remains the measure of all things and the Grand Canyon is the test winner in this field. The steep seat angle and sporty riding position give the bike plenty of propulsion uphill. At the same time, the slim rear triangle is the most comfortable in the test field. On singletrack trails, the sporty bike manoeuvres with calm and confident handling. On loose, rocky ground, the Reba fork and Nobby Nic tyres stick to the ground and forgive (almost) every riding mistake. The successful package with a six-year warranty does not stand out negatively even on the starting line among expensive racers.

Conclusion: Top sports bike with a frame that is made for tuning. Sensible equipment. Test winner.
