Sabine Spitz has already proven with her gold medal at the Olympics that this bike is also capable of big victories. Even though our test bike did not break the 7.5-kilo mark, the "Lector Worldcup" appeared in the top 3 rankings for lap times for all riders. Very balanced, whether uphill or downhill, and simply fast. The Ghost has no weaknesses and shines with a clean finish and well thought-out components. At just 1132 grams, the "Lector" frame is the lightest in the test and still offers a very impressive headset stiffness of 92.9 Nm/°. This puts it on a par with the stiffness king "Rebelion" from Bad Camberg in relation to weight (STW). Visually, the Ghost is rather understated, but offers everything that racers desire. Full Shimano "XTR" equipment with a large 180 millimetre brake disc at the front, Schwalbe "Racing Ralph/Rocket Ron" combo, Rock Shox "SID" fork and Mavic "Crossmax SLR" wheelset. That's all you need to win races. The secure handling and balanced geometry of the bike are also reflected in the fast times in the downhill section. Karl Platt achieved his fastest time in this section, Manuel Fumic his second fastest. The fact that you don't sit too stretched out means that even longer tours are no problem. Unfortunately, the Ghost is only available in three frame heights and not as a frame kit.
CONCLUSIONS: At just under 4000 euros, the Ghost is one of the cheapest bikes in this select test field. In return, you get a fast racer that cuts an excellent figure not only on the racetrack.
