The rear frame triangle has been widened by six millimetres to the new Boost standard and the space between the chainstay and crank has been increased. Nevertheless, the stiffness is still at the lower end of the test field. Riding on the race track is part of the Lector's daily routine, and it performs just as confidently. Super light wheels combined with the high range of the Eagle drivetrain and the low overall weight make gentle climbs out of poisonous ascents. The sporty riding position also encourages you to accelerate. Wide carbon rims give the lightweight Thunder Burt a high volume, but the low-profile tyres still reach their limits off-road. The long wheelbase makes the Ghost smooth-running. High-speed passages such as the Rockgarden are therefore child's play. Fine Tune components and carbon wheels or not - the price remains insane!
Conclusion: High-end racer. Other bikes deliver the same riding pleasure for less money.
The alternative: For half the price, the Lector 9 UC is still available with XTR equipment and Fox's top fork.
Simon Stiebjahn: The Ghost is equipped with the finest parts. Lightweight wheels and add-on parts are sensitive and require a lot of care. For 10,000 euros, the Ghost is certainly not an everyday bike.
