The Ghost HTX Lector won't let you down even on the longest tour. Good-natured touring 29er with weight reserves.

The 29er hardtail from Waldsassen utilises the characteristics of the large wheels perfectly: You sit low in the bike instead of on top of it, a balanced, smooth-running geometry doesn't immediately penalise every mistake on the downhills with a take-off, and short chainstays (430 mm) leave room for riding fun. Extended tours in moderate terrain are the ideal area of use for the HTX Lector. Sporty ambitions, on the other hand, are dampened from the outset by the somewhat cumbersome wheels and the upright riding position. The equipment is aimed squarely at the touring rider: a triple crank (sub-optimal gradation), the softer Reba fork compared to the Rock Shox SID and the reliable Deore brakes with large brake discs. Compared to Cube or the mail order companies, however, the equipment is one tyre width behind.

ConclusionThe Ghost HTX Lector won't let you down even on the longest tour. Good-natured touring 29er with weight reserves.

PLUS Good-natured handling, very smooth running, large brake discs
MINUS Sluggish wheels, outdated gear ratios (crank)
