Ghost is presenting a new e-mountainbike just in time for Eurobike: The Lector HybRide is based on its non-motorised brother, the Lector, the racing bike from the Upper Palatinate. Ghost manufactures the frame from carbon fibre and aims to achieve a weight of less than 17 kilos. The Shimano Steps motor powers the hardtail, with 500 Wh available as usual. Ghost has integrated the battery into the down tube, albeit not completely. This should allow for better cooling. There is also space for a bottle cage in the frame.
Ghost also relies on a wheel mix for the HybRide: a 2.8-inch wide Plus tyre at the rear should provide traction and comfort, while a 29-inch tyre at the front ensures precise handling. The Waldsassen-based company adapts the geometry to the area of use: The 65.8 degree steep steering angle promises a smooth ride, while the 443 mm chainstays ensure agile handling. At 448 millimetres, the reach in L is modernly long.
Four different models are available for the Ghost HybRide: The three Lector models with suspension fork aim to impress with maximum riding fun. The 120-millimetre fork and the Vario seatpost are designed to increase downhill potential. Short cranks help on technical uphills.
The lightest model, the SX 5.7 LC, is said to weigh just 16.6 kilos. This version is uncompromisingly trimmed for propulsion, and the geometry has also been adapted: The steering angle is significantly steeper at 68.1 degrees and the reach is even longer at 473 millimetres in L. The rigid fork takes the weight off the scales and creates an even more direct riding experience.
