The perfectly coordinated appearance from the fork decor to the tyre sidewall makes the 1368 gram, beautifully shaped frame an absolute eye-catcher. Once mounted, the steep 110 mm stem unnecessarily raises the riding position at the front. A 90 mm stem would have sufficed. However, thanks to the 74 mm seat angle, you don't have to worry about steep climbs. Especially as your hands stay on the grips while the Terralogic fork locks reliably. Only the flex - the only chance for comfort on a hardtail - is lacking on the seat post, which is too thick at 31.6 millimetres. Once you have climbed the turning point of the test lap, the steering reacts very agilely through the tight right-left through the trees - almost 26-inch-like. However, one and a half kilos separate the 9.7-kilo Raven from its Focus 26-inch counterpart and one kilo from the Storck.
Conclusion: A visual masterpiece with a stiff frame and refreshingly manoeuvrable handling.
