The most expensive bike also offers the best mix of equipment. Shimano XT throughout, plus a very good (lightweight) fork, fast tyres and some nice details for the eye. However, the frame is the heaviest in the field. Two kilos is not in keeping with the times. In the practical test, the Nine Race makes an excellent impression and appeals to sporty riders. It climbs quickly and with good traction and descends safely, thanks to the powerful brakes.
