Focus is expanding its 29-inch fleet in 2013 with a new 29er fully and two further 29er hardtails. A 650B race bike rounds off the Raven range.

The 29-inch Raven hardtails were the Cloppenburg-based company's bestseller in 2012, which is why Focus is expanding its 29er range. With the "Super Bud", the Germans are presenting a 29er fully for the first time (photo above). The aluminium frame offers 100 millimetres of travel at the rear. Focus will offer four models of the Super Bud, ranging from 1700 to 3000 euros.

The 29er carbon hardtails in the Raven series are also growing. There will be a total of five models of the Raven hardtail in the coming season. The entry-level model (Raven 5.0) should be particularly exciting. The 2000 euro model offers an SLX mix and is said to weigh 11.2 kilos. The entry-level 26-inch model is available from 1700 euros with a carbon frame and 30-speed Shimano XT gears.

7.9-kilo lightweight twentyniner for racers

Focus showed what is really possible with the Raven 29er with the 7.9 kilo Raven with SRAM XX1 and DT carbon wheelset with tubular tyres. The top model costs an utopian 8999 euros!

For racers, the 650B model of the Raven is also an option. This is based 1:1 on the 26er frame, where only the bridge between the seat stays has been changed for more tyre clearance. According to Focus developers, the geometry is almost similar to the 26er and good. The Raven 650B is available with complete XT gearing for 2699 euros. Weight: 10.9 kilos.
